Click the Read More link to get the link for the file download. This is to help me with tracking how many times the file has been downloaded. It also includes instructions and tips on installing. Please, please read the instructions and tips before asking for help as it contains needed information and is often updated.

Initrd Toggle Scripts

UPDATE (12-12-2008): Since Martin (dzo) has incorporated my (grktaurus83) toggle switch scripts and retrobits' Togga apk into his releases and they seem to be working great, there isn't too much going on with the initrd toggle scripts now. Though, if I were to implement some improvements, I would use this page for distribution until it makes its way to the final releases (if it does). Testing the toggle scripts and Togga apk outside of Martin's releases this way is part of the reason we got it accepted into the final builds so quickly! Thanks for all of your feedback!

Uninstall Applications from Android

Ever wondered how to uninstall Applications that you have installed on Android? This little guide is your friend for that. Read the full instructions for the easy to follow guide.

Adding Apps to Vogue-based Android

If you are using the Vogue port created by dzo, then adding Android applications is a breeze. These are applications that are manually downloaded to your computer or by using Windows Mobile. They must be the .apk application files made for Android. These applications will load and be available once Android has started up.

Modifying Android's .img files

This requires a Linux computer
NOTE(1) WM5storage.cab will allow you to connect your phone to linux box using usb cord. There is no need to remove the sdcard from the phone.
NOTE(2) I use thunar instead of nautilus as it seems more stable.

Instructions for Building Vogue Android from Source

These instructions will help you to download the open source version of Android, make it, and then add in dzo's files to build the Android port for the HTC Vogue all from scratch. Not for the faint of heart, but if you are a programmer, these instructions should be easy to follow. This does require Linux.

Import Contacts into Android using Funambol

This solution uses Funambol to sync your contacts across multiple devices/platforms and into/out of Android.

From Wikipedia: "The Funambol core project is a free and open source mobile synchronization server that provides push email, address book and calendar (PIM) data synchronization, and device management for wireless devices, leveraging standard protocols such as SyncML. For users, this means BlackBerry-like capabilities on commodity handsets."

Site Redesigned, Relaunched

Just a brief news snippet while I continue to work on the new site.

I played with using Joomla for the old site and didn't much like its community non-involvement generating aspect. In other words, Joomla is not the best system to use when you want the community to interact with a site. I knew that going in but thought I could get it to work. I was wrong. I'm trying something else out now. This system I know is excellent at community building but its been so long since I have worked with it and so much has changed, that it may take me awhile to get the hang of it again.
